Chairman - NSSA
Robin is the Chairman of the National Social Security Authority of Zimbabwe (“NSSA”), an institution with over US$1.3 billion of assets under management. Robin is a Chartered Accountant, professionally qualified and experienced Investment Banker/ Executive. He is a Fellow of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (“ICAEW”) and the UK Chartered Securities Institute. Robin is also a member of the Institute of Directors in Southern Africa. In November 2016, Robin was appointed by the ICAEW as a Member of the Advisory Board for Africa.
Robin has founded and led a Johannesburg & London Stock Exchange (AIM List) listed entity; co-founded two separate UK equity investment funds and worked for top tier bulge bracket financial institutions in the City of London as a senior private equity/ investment banking executive for more than 20 years. He has a verifiable track record of leading and closing corporate and investment related transactions in Sub-Saharan Africa and the City of London. Robin is also an appointed consultant to the World Bank, IFC and Sanlam Investment Managers in Swaziland. Robin graduated with an honours degree in Economics and Accounting from Bristol University.
Robin has been instrumentally involved in power, energy and Oil and Gas projects in (inter alia): Zimbabwe, Uganda, South Africa, DRC, Malawi, Egypt and Nigeria. Through Lonsa Capital, Firstmile Properties and its affiliates, Robin holds various interests in Resources, Infrastructure, Property, and various cash generative businesses principally in Zimbabwe and South Africa.
Robin is a native Zimbabwean, who was brought up in Harare; attended Peterhouse College in Marondera and whose ancestral roots are in Mamina, Ngezi – Mhondoro.
