Dr Elena Clarici is a social entrepreneur and seasoned mining investment professional, committed to bringing change and sustainable social transformation. Elena is a founder of Micah group of companies involved exploration and mining of precious minerals and stones, jewellery manufacturing and working with small-scale miners and artisan jewellery makers, principally in East Africa.
Additionally, Elena acts as a senior investment adviser to African Sustainable Development Office, investment advisor and manager for Africa focused sustainable investments. In the past, Elena held a number of senior positions at various financial institutions in the City of London, focusing principally on investment management in natural resources and emerging markets. Prior to founding Micah group of companies, Elena was responsible for mining investments for Meridian Equity Partners and before that Elena was portfolio co-manager of Scipion Mining and Resources Fund. Elena started her career as a mining analyst with T. Hoare & Co, stockbrokers and was trained as a mining investment banker with ABN AMRO Bank.
Elena is past chairman of Association of Mining Analysts and a regular contributor to financial and mining media and has authored numerous articles on a variety of mining investment topics. Originally trained as a mining engineer she has gained her PhD at Royal School of Mines, Imperial College, London.
